What Are We Doing As A Security Systems Consultant?

This document identifies a variety of facility related security services and project related tasks and activities, which are available to clients on a phased and sequential basis.

PHASE 1 – Analysis and recommendations

We will u se a formal, structured design process to plan and design your security system. This structured design process involves five major phases, and is patterned after the design approach used by architects to create buildings.
We will conduct a security survey and threat and vulnerabilities analysis to identify operational requirements and assess current security provisions. This structured design process assures that your security systems will be designed based on your needs and budget.
After these analysis a document called "Security Master Plan" will be prepare to summarise the security recommendations. The process allows you and your employees to completely understand the proposed security systems before they are purchased.
In addition to the Security Master Plan we will produce professional design drawings and other documentation for the project. We can assist you to explain and "sell" your proposed security system to senior management.
This phase can be done for an existing building with an old or not adapted security system installed or for a new facility.

PHASE 2 – Design Development

After the security systems are designed and approved by management, we will prepare a set of specifications. These specifications are very detailed, and outline the requirements of the project. These specifications carefully specify equipment, materials, and technical installations that are directly applicable to your project.
Upon completion of the specifications and final design drawings, we will assist you to obtain bids. We are very familiar with the security system vendors, and can help you to obtain a number of qualified bids.
After you receive the bids, we will assist you to evaluate them. Each vendor's bid will be based on the system shown on the consultant's design drawings and described within the specifications. This greatly simplifies the evaluation process, allowing you to focus on each vendor's qualifications, rather than on the type of system that he is proposing.
After you have selected a vendor, we can assist you to negotiate a satisfactory contract. If needed we will also help you to establish a schedule for the installation phase with the selected vendor.

PHASE 3 – Installation, administration and Follow up

We will visit the project periodically as the systems are being installed to assure that the equipment and workmanship is in compliance with the specifications. We will give you periodic written status reports as the job progresses.

PHASE 4 – Acceptance Tests, Procedure and Training

When the project is complete, we will conduct a thorough acceptance test. During this test, all parts of the system will be tested to assure compliance with the specifications
Any problems discovered will be noted on a written "punch-list". The vendor must correct all items on the punch-list before final payment is made.
We will also experiment the interactions between physical security, safety and operational security.
After all this steps we would have to meet local fire brigade and police and start the proper work of instruction and training of guards and specific persons that will have to use the security systems and make periodical tests and maintenance on these equipment.

PHASE 5 – Consultancy Contract

When the acceptance tests are finished and the system is running we will remain available for you with any security problems that can occur and provide follow-up security consulting on an as needed basis. We will update the Security Master Plan and the procedures and provide training for your employees.
