Countersurveillance
There are many reasons and motives why people have the desire to spy on each other. It is difficult to statistically assess how many governments, industries, and individuals are routinely victims of illegal and unwanted surveillance. Evidence of illegal surveillance is often suppressed to avoid publicity or, in some cases, alerting the spy. Many organisations are unaware that
industrial spying has affected their economy (i.e. a competitor beats you to market with a new product or product feature, a competitor under bids you on an important job, your labour union is prepared for your negotiating points, corporate raiders attack when you are financially
weak).
Eavesdropping and illegal video surveillance can
affect many aspects of everyday success:
• Labour union disputes with company management.
• New product developments and plans. Protection of Trade secrets.
• Negotiating strategies.
• Reorganisation plans such as mergers or take-overs.
• Corporate legal problems.
• Protection of financial information.
• Industrial spies from other companies and/or countries.
• Employees spying on each other. (Peeping Tom, sexual
harassment, stalking). |

Surveillance devices are typically considered myths or products only available to covert government spies; however, as the world's technology continues to advance,
high quality surveillance devices are easily purchased on the commercial market and can even be common household product. A baby monitor is an excellent complete bugging system for less than $50; it can be placed above ceiling tiles, under conference room tables, behind a desk, or in a briefcase. A high quality "pinhole" lens chip camera can be purchased on the open market for less than $150. It is important to note, that as the value of protected information increases, the threat potential and available surveillance technology also increases. The serious industrial spy can easily acquire and utilise sophisticated eavesdropping equipment. It is solely up to the individual company to determine the value of their information.
Our company is able to employed specific material and people in order to prevent or detect the interception of sensitive, classified, or private information. We will do an inspection by a technician or an engineer of a physical item or place (automobile, briefcase, office, home, etc.)
The purpose is to locate possible covert surveillance devices, technical security weakness, and technical security hazards. One of our specialist will also evaluate for weakness all locks, alarms, and other systems of physical an electronic security or controls.
Our "sweep team" of trained specialists engineers is equipped with "state-of-the-art" electronic countermeasures equipment including the latest
OSC-5000 Omni-Spectral Correlator (OSCOR) from REI and will detect all forms of transmitters and illicit intrusion devices.
OSCOR is a portable microprocessor controlled scanning spectral correlator with a built-in spectrum analyser that monitor audio (20 Hz – 15 Hz), RF and microwave signal (10 KHz to 3 GHz), carrier current and infrared signals (850 – 1070 nM). It uses passive sound pattern matching to recognise surveillance devices.
Basically OSCOR will find:
• FM, AM microwave RF signals utilising either wide or narrow
bandwidths.
• Sub carrier bugs/taps.
• Carrier current units using room or telephone wiring.
• IR or laser on premise or off premise devices.
• Tape recorders.
• Audio in telephones, on Telecom lines or other wiring.
• Basically anything putting room audio where it should not be. |

Our team is also equipped with a non linear junction detector "ORION" also from REI which provides the capability to detect hidden electronic
devices, regardless of weather the device is radiating, hard wired or even turned on at all. |

We are able to operate for clients either on a "one-off" basis or on agreed consultancy
terms.
